Dans aujourd'hui 925 leçon d'anglais, we’re going to learn all about how to start a conversation in English.

Sometimes we call starting an conversation anglaise “breaking the ice.” You can think of the “ice” as that initial silence between people. It could be between strangers on a plane or coworkers in a lunch room. And when we “break” the ice, we say something friendly to start a conversation. Alors, comment faites-vous cela? Que dis-tu? And what topics are best?

925 Anglais will be a new business English podcast for beginner and intermediate learners. 925 English lessons will focus on chunks of language and English expressions that you can use in work and business. Chaque 925 English lesson will feature English phrases you can use in different situations and advice on why and how we use them in Anglais des affaires.

This is the video version of our first 925leçon d'anglais, a new series we’ll launch next year. Our first 925English lesson is about how to say hello to colleagues and customers in English. We look at three different situations: How to greet someone you don’t know, how to respond to a greeting and how to informally greet a colleague or friend. For each situation we provide lots of examples and you can practice the language with some short role-plays.

This is a preview lesson from 925 Anglais, a new series we’ll launch next year. Assez convenablement, we’re kicking off with a 925 leçon d'anglais on how to greet and say hello to colleagues and customers in English.

We get straight to the point with lots of examples. We give you phrases you can say in different situations and advice on why and how to use them.

Donc, it’s pretty easy to greet someone in English, n'est-ce pas? We can say “good morning” or “hello” or just “hi.” And we might add something like “my name is Tim Smith,” or a question like “how’s it going?” But what’s the difference? How do we choose which greeting to use? Bien, dans les affaires, like in life, it depends on the situation. That includes who we’re talking to and where we’re having the conversation. So let’s go through three situations and practice some appropriate ways of saying hello.

Bienvenue dans le module d'anglais des affaires pour la leçon d'aujourd'hui sur socialiser at an office party.

Office parties can be fun, but have you ever stood there with a colleague and felt like you don’t know what to say? Maybe you’ve got a great working relationship, but outside the office it feels like a different game? En fait, good working relationships are supported by good personal relationships. The more we know our co-workers, the better our work can be. And the office party can be a great chance to get to know them better and build that relationship.

Donc, how do we do that? What are some techniques for socializing at office parties? Dans la leçon d'aujourd'hui, we’ll look at paying, or giving, someone a compliment, declining a drink, and gossiping. We’ll also learn how to change the topic and introduce two people who haven’t met before.

Dans la boîte de dialogue, nous entendrons Amber, who works for a pharmaceutical company. At a company Christmas party she runs into one of her colleagues Max. Max and Amber chat for a while before Finn, a new colleague of Amber’s, shows up on the scene.

BEP 262 – Socialiser lors d'une fête de bureau 1

Bienvenue dans le module d'anglais des affaires pour la leçon d'aujourd'hui sur socialiser lors d'une fête de bureau ou d'un événement.

Les soirées de bureau sont une excellente occasion de faire connaissance avec vos collègues en dehors de l'environnement de travail habituel. En plus, comme on dit, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” But have you ever found yourself at a party, boire à la main, et je ne savais pas comment engager une conversation? Vous êtes peut-être à une table avec une personne que vous n’avez pas rencontrée dans un autre département. Vous établissez un contact visuel, sourire, et maintenant quoi? Que dis-tu?

La socialisation avec des collègues est un élément important de l'établissement de bonnes relations, mais cela peut être gênant si vous êtes à court de mots. Heureusement, il existe de bonnes techniques pour cette situation que vous pouvez apprendre et pratiquer. Dans la leçon d'aujourd'hui, nous allons chercher à briser la glace et à utiliser des points de connaissances communs pour démarrer une conversation. Nous allons également apprendre à orienter la conversation vers l'autre personne, montrer de l'intérêt, et faites une excuse pour partir lorsque vous voulez terminer la conversation.
